Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Introduction

Reconstruction drawing

The project is a study of the Iron Age and Roman landscape of the Cotswold Water Park region in the Upper Thames Valley, incorporating a number of key previously unpublished archaeological sites. The project was funded by the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund as distributed by English Heritage.

The Eagle in the Landscape: The Archaeology of the Cotswold Water Park is the digital volume that accompanies the print volume entitled:

Miles, D, Palmer, S, Smith, A and Jones, G Iron Age and Roman settlement in the Upper Thames Valley: Excavations at Claydon Pike and other sites within the Cotswold Water Park. Thames Valley Landscapes Monograph, Oxford Archaeology

This Digital Volume deposited with the ADS contains detailed archive reports on the stratigraphy, finds and environmental evidence for the four key Cotswold Water Park sites and the survey sites. Digital Section 1 is an introduction to the Project. Digital sections 2 to 4 contain archive reports for Claydon Pike, along with full context and finds tables for this site. The remaining sections (5 to 8) contain the archive reports and supporting material for the other Cotswold Water Park sites. All of the data within this digital volume are intended to support the interpretations and discussions outlined within the print volume. However, both sections are designed to be consulted independently of each other.
