In order to investigate the archaeological potential of a proposed development on land at Country Boarding Kennels, Slip End, Baldock, SG7 6SF, Hertfordshire, the Heritage Network was commissioned to undertake a field evaluation by trial trenching. Nine trenches were excavated across the site. Two of the trenches were located inside the kennels compound; and seven of the trenches were located in the large triangular field used for dog walking and training. No archaeological features or deposits were revealed in the nine trenches and no finds were recovered. On the basis of the results of the evaluation, the risk that the proposed development might have a negative impact on remains of archaeological significance may be considered to be Low for all periods.
