Introduction

This project was undertaken by the Historic Environment Unit of Hertfordshire County Council, funding was provided by English Heritage under the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund.

The objective of the project was to carry out a detailed desk-based exercise of the key minerals areas to provide a uniform and reasonably comprehensive information base from which it will be much easier to consider the relative impact of proposals on the historic environment.
