DescriptionGrade II Listing gives 'Holt House was the residence of Sir Robert Durning Holt (1832-1908), first Lord Mayor of Liverpool (1893-4). A notable and finely-detailed late C19 villa established on the northern perimeter of Sefton Park, (opened in 1872) which became an architecturally distinctive suburb characterised by large houses set in extensive grounds; the residences of influential members of the industrial and commercial communities of late C19 Liverpool.' The building was used as an Auxiliary Hospital during the Great War and has now been converted to flats.
