Full Record - Camping Coaches - Ravenglass Station (PRN: 11034)

PRN11034
Site or location nameCamping Coaches - Ravenglass Station
Summary
DescriptionThe two Camping Coaches at Ravenglass Station started life as part of an LNWR Hospital Train. A number of these trains were used to transport the wounded from the ports, primarily Southampton and Dover to receiving stations /hospitals around the country. After the war the carriages were converted for various uses. Few now survive and bear little similarity to their original design. These survivors at Ravenglass were converted to Pullman Kitchen and Parlour Cars in 1921, modified in 1932 and finally to Camping Coaches in 1960.
