DescriptionThe Heritage Craft School at Chailey was established in 1902. By 1918 it was specialising in the care and treatment of children who had been traumatized by London air raids, providing therapeutic work and rehabilitation for those with physical wounds. It also acted as a convalescent hospital for wounded and disabled soldiers during this period.
