Description'The Stranraer drill hall was built between the 2nd and 3rd epoch 1:2500 maps (between 1893 and 1907). It comprises a large hall with its gable, with five lancet-headed windows, to Bellevilla Road. The hall has six bays along its south elevation to Thistle Street, five with round-headed windows. A house or block of offices is attached to the north and set back slightly from the street. Osborne reports a gun store to rear. In 1914 the hall was the base for 'D' Company, 5th battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers. The building is now in use as a Baptist Church, and has been re-roofed.
