| Description | Four steps leads up to the War Memorial. The memorial octagonal column is placed upon three plinths. The two lower are square. The bottom plinth comprises 7 rectangular blocks, the second plinth has 5 rectangular blocks and the third plinth has 4 tapered decorative blocks. The final plinth before the column is a large cube and tapered on the top. Above is the octagonal base which is in sections followed by the column. Above the column there are decorative thistles, the date and a shield with a small octagonal base before the cross. The front panel says - THE GREAT WAR, 1914-1919 IN FOND AND LOVING MEMORY OF THESE YOUNG MEN WHO AT THE HIGH CALL OF DUTY WENT FORTH FROM THIS VALLEY ON ACTIVE SERVICE AND GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT CAUSE OF FREEDOM Two further panels show names from 1914 and 1919.
