Description | Victorian building built by architect Robert Kerr between 1865–74, it is one of the largest Victorian country houses in England and a grade II listed building. In 1915 the owner, John Walter offered the mansion for Canadian Convalescents. In September 1915 the Canadian Government fitted it out with 300 beds. From 1921 it was the Merchant Seamans' Orphanage. In 1961 it became Bearwood College, and since 2015 has been occupied by Reddam House Berkshire co-educational independent school.' | ||||
