Full Record - Central Methodist (PRN: 22283)

PRN22283
Site or location nameCentral Methodist
Summary
DescriptionRed brick building with a welsh slate roof. This is double pitched. It is a double storeyed building with a tower adjacent to it (projected on the western side). Building: Ground floor: The front of the building has two large sash windows with a door to the left of them. This is an arched double wooden door which is entered through the tower. On the right side of the building, there are three larger sash windows. This is mirrored on the left side of the building also. Above the door at the front entrance is a new sign which states, ‘Central mosque’. Above this etched in the brick is, ‘Lecture Hall and Schools’. On the main building at the top is ‘1903 Primitive Methodist’ etched in to the brick. Second floor: There are two large sash windows on the front facing wall. On the tower above the door are two thinner sash windows. On the east right side of the building there are 5 sash windows. Although this is mirrored on the left hand side, the windows are square. To the rear: Although the building is largely inaccessible to the rear, two large windows on the ground floor and four larger windows on the second floor can be seen. This also looks like it is part of a later extension to the original building. '
