PRN254
Site or location nameDerwentwater House
SummaryDuchess's High School
Description8th Northumberland VAD Hospital. In 1914 it took over the building (previously and subsequently used by the Duchess's School). By 1916 the hospital had moved to Alnwick Camp after the training battalions had left. The building is still in use today as an annexe of the Duchess's Community High School, but this use will probably end in 2016 as a new school is under construction.
