Full Record - Sea Palling (PRN: 8021)

PRN8021
Site or location nameSea Palling
Summary
DescriptionWW1 circular pillbox. Entrance smashed presumably to remove steel doors. Built by Royal Engineers July 1918 according to graffiti scratched in the concrete as it was drying. The loopholes are of a smaller, neater type than found on other WW1 pillboxes - perhaps this was one of the last built? It may once have been one of a pair, but no details of a second pillbox at this site are known. A measured drawing of this pillbox appear in Henry Wills' 'Pillboxes' book
