No Man's Sky Archaeology
BotFodder's Base is unique in the old Galactic Hub of No Man's Sky because of being double-glitched. In the Pathfinder era, the player BotFodder2 snapped an image of his base suspended in mid-air, a rare occurrence pre-Atlas Rises. Once the update occurred in August 2017, the elevated base found itself perched atop a procedurally generated trading post populated by several NPC's. This new positioning, unique as far as the Galactic Hub is concerned, is much like an apartment above a shop in either Roman or modern times, and provides instant access to commercial activity. Although a central base unit icon was present under the trading post, it was unable to be discovered through excavation.
This site was the 20th visited by Andrew Reinhard for the No Man's Sky Archaeological Project and includes archival and Atlas Rises-era photos and video, site report, and manifest of communication station inscriptions.
