Hand Specimen Description: | A hard, medium grained, poorly sorted oolitic limestone with shell fragments. The workable bed is 13 feet thick and divided by thin irregular partings. Fossil bivalve shells are found in the stone, and occasionally well preserved black shining fish teeth, fragments of bone, and pieces of lignite (Arkell 1947: 115). |
