Usage

General Comments:

Suited to ashlar and detailed work it is a hard and durable stone, it was also one of the most exploited Bath Stones but unfortunately one of the poorest, seriously decaying in smoke laden atmospheres and showing signs of fatigue after as little as 200 years. This stone will harden and turn whiter in colour when exposed to the atmosphere (Watson 1911: 176).

Known Usage: Holborne Museum of Art, Bath.
