Hand Specimen Description: | A fine to medium grained, hard, well sorted limestone with a smooth feel. This fissile limestone can be split along natural cleavage lines. The stones are kept wet during the winter which causes them to split when frosts occur. They can then be shaped and used as a durable roofing tile. |
