General Colour Description:

'Hollington Red' is dull red/brown colour with white flecks, Hollington White is a light yellow/grey stone and Hollington 'Mottled' a mixture of the two colours usually pale pink with a darker stripe. All three varieties can occur in the same quarry and the colour can depend on the amount of iron staining that has taken place.

Hand Specimen Description:

A medium grained, hard, granular sandstone which is well sorted with a rough feel.
