Description: | The surviving twelve slabs of this ring (16m in diameter) was taken from the local millstone grit (Ilkley Moor stone). The ring would originally have had between 16 and 20 stones. At the centre of the circle is a small hummocky mound, probably the disturbed remains of a burial cairn (Burl 1995: 91). | |||||
