One flake found in the throw-up beside one of the trenches.
With C Graham
Several exposures of deposits at ancient channel level to be seen in trenches on the housing site behind Hernes Farm gravel pit.
Most sections show a completely non-stratified deposit - a mixture of chalk, gravel, loam and sand. It is as if the ancient channel gravels had been subject to solifluxion, but there is no slope. Ice would appear to be the agent responsible., (sketch of exposed section)
