Description: Site of a disused iron mine at the northern end of Perran Beach. John Woodward (1688-1728) wrote that "the vein has been worked formerly, and is vastly large". During the 1860s, ore was drawn up the cliff (where it outcrops) by an 11.5 inch "puffer" engine, before being transported 3 miles to a newly constructed quay on the Gannel.
