Large number of graves from east of abbey church, not yet fully published. At least 90 monastic burials excavated by 1971, in addition to extensive 9th- to 11th-century pre-abbey cemetery. Diane Keeping analysed 106 skeletons. Male to female ratio 0.37M:1F. Several cist burials noted, one flexed and buried on its side, one with lead chalice.
