These works comprised a trial trench evaluation and an archaeological watching brief during ground investigation works. The archaeological works recorded extensive disturbance across the site. This was deepest in the south-eastern part of the site and at the north-western site boundary. There was no clear evidence for surviving original topsoil/subsoil layers. This ground disturbance is presumably associated with levelling and terracing works undertaken during the early 19th century development of the site, slum clearance during the 1930s, and the construction of the bus station in the 1960s. A ditch pre-dating the late post-medieval/modern ground disturbance was recorded in the north-eastern part of the site. This ditch contained a single abraded sherd of Roman pottery. A series of fragmentary late post-medieval/modern brick and concrete-built structures were recorded in the south-eastern part of the site. These relate to 19th and 20th century development.",AUTHOR,Paul,Clarke,Cotswold Archaeology,,2018,Cotswold Archaeology,,,,,,English,, SID18_St_Sidwells_Exeter_excavation_report.pdf,"St Sidwell?s Point Leisure Centre and Exeter Bus Station, Exeter, Devon: Excavation Report",Excavation report,AUTHOR,Clare,Randall,Cotswold Archaeology,,2021,Cotswold Archaeology,,,,,,English,,
