The format is a proprietary one, produced by Geomar Software Inc. and supplied by Bartington Instruments Ltd. The files can be processed in Geomar's MultiGrad601 software, and can also be opened and viewed in a text editor such as Notepad. A full technical explanation of the MGR file format can be found in a PDF file deposited with this archive. DAT files comprise the 'raw' data after conversion to a generic XYZ format. Each file comprises a header and four columns of space-separated data values in plain text. The columns are Easting / Northing / data value / time-stamp. The eastings and northings are UTM co-ordinates (zone specified in file header). The units of the data values are nanotesla (nT). The co-ordinates in the data file have been calculated by interpolation and geometric projection from the raw NMEA data points in the MGR file. This process may lead to minor positional inaccuracies. Larger errors may occasionally occur at the end of survey lines and in areas of interrupted GPS signal. The time-stamps are derived from the clock of the tablet or laptop on which the raw data was logged, and may be in error if the time settings on that device were wrong. XCP files are a proprietary file type (TerraSurveyor software, produced by DW Consulting). They contain the processed survey data, together with detailed metadata, including image interpolation settings, co-ordinate system, processing steps and line break positions.",,English,AF1-1.dat ;AF1-1.mgr ;AF1p.xcp ;AF2-1.dat ;AF2-1.mgr ;AF2-2.dat ;AF2-2.mgr ;AF2p.xcp ;AF3-1.dat ;AF3-1.mgr ;AF3p.xcp ;AF4-1.dat ;AF4-1.mgr ;AF4p.xcp ;AF5-1.dat ;AF5-1.mgr ;AF5p.xcp ;AF6-1.dat ;AF6-1.mgr ;AF6p.xcp ;AF7-1.dat ;AF7-1.mgr ;AF7p.xcp ;AF8-1.dat ;AF8-1.mgr ;AF8p.xcp ;,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, EM: Coil Configuration,EM: Recorded Component,GPR: Antenna Information,GPR: Time Delay,GPR: Time Sampling Resolution,GPR: Time Span,GPR: Average subsurface velocity,GPR: Average subsurface note,M: Magnetic north,M: Instrument drift,R: Electrode configuration,R: Electrode spacing,R: Multiple configurations,MS: Average water velocity,MS: Sonar frequency,MS: Beam width at nadir,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,Non-gridded survey - not applicable,Not recorded,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
