One of the key roles of the ADS is to promote good practice in the preservation, curation and use of digital data. Digital Preservation and Data Management for Heritage Practitioners

This one day data management course for heritage practitioners will provide data creators and curators with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out good data management practices. The course will do this by introducing the FAIR principles and highlighting the importance of planned data management, data standards and standardised vocabularies. Providing practical advice for best practice in data creation, management, and sharing, culminating in guidance on how to create and follow an effective Data Management Plan.

Digital Preservation and Data Management for Heritage Practitioners

This two day data management and digital preservation course for heritage practitioners will provide data creators and curators with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out good data management practices and prepare data for long-term preservation. The course will do this by introducing the FAIR principles and highlighting the importance of planned data management, data standards and standardised vocabularies. Providing practical advice for best practice in data creation, management, and sharing, culminating in guidance on how to create and follow an effective Data Management Plan. The course will also introduce digital preservation practices and explore advanced techniques on how to prepare your data for long-term preservation.

Through a series of case study presentations and group discussions, this one day course aimed at those working in the digital preservation sector will delve into the ADS’s 25 years of experience conducting practical preservation. Covering a range of essential digital preservation topics from knowing your data, to practical data migration this course provides beginner digital preservation practitioners with a host of useful tips, tricks and ideas to utilize in their own preservation activities.

This two day course aimed at those working in the digital preservation sector will delve into the ADS’s 25 years of experience conducting practical preservation. Covering the same range of essential digital preservation topics from knowing your data, to practical data migration as the 1 day course, this course expands to applying for accreditation, policy writing and more. Providing beginner digital preservation practitioners with a wide breadth of experience and ideas to utilize across many digital preservation areas.
