Abstract:
On material excavated by the late Tom Affleck. Analysis builds up a general pattern of use; some tools give more information than others. All the Smittons microliths were consistent with use as armatures on projectiles. The Starr pieces were non-projectile in character - eg saw, groover, shaver, etc - and carry the implication that microliths do not necessarily indicate hunting uses.
