Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
All the amber in BA Greece may have arrived in three consignments only (1600-1580 BC, Shaft Grave Mycenae; c 1500 BC, Peloponnese LH II; c 1200 BC, concentrations in NW and W Greece). This changes the picture of Mycenaean contact with the north, which is in any case not supported by other evidence. Amber finds in LH IIIB-C confirm the picture of a westward- looking mainland Greece with Italian rather than Central European relations. Au(adp) | |||
