Abstract:
Examination of the distribution and sequence of communal burial in Neolithic and Early Metal Age Europe leads to the conclusion that there was an 'Atlantic corridor' with a major S-N stream responsible for the spread of communal burial and for most of the architectural forms of the burial chambers, and a minor N-S influence which sometimes affected the form of the covering mound.
