Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Low altitude plains of machair were probably formed by long term erosional and depositional process. The initial pre-machair coastal accumulation of sand supply occurred before 5700BP. Machair stratigraphies at Rosinish, Northton and Udal are discussed and indicate that machair development consisted of long periods of stability, interrupted by episodes of major environmental disturbances.
