Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Information provided by 114 fulltime rescue organizations in England, Scotland and Wales showed that the total finance for 1978-9 amounts to £5.7m, of which the DoE contributes just under half and local authorities and Manpower Services Commission provide another 20% each. The total is 56% more than in 1976 but the increase in real terms (allowing for salary inflation) is very much less, only Scotland receiving some much-needed improvement in funding. The figures are analysed in some detail and the uncertain prospects emphasized. |
