Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
"A brief account of the creation of the Oxfordshire Unit, its structure and its aspirations." Rescue work was rare in the county before the early 1960s, and subsequent developments were haphazard. The Unit created in 1973 is now closely linked to the County Council, registered as a Charity and managed by a highly professional body responsible to a main committee with very wide representation. It is already producing a series of policy reports on specific problems such as river gravels (see 74/2624) and small towns. |
