Abstract:
Numerous sondages established the settlement at as at least 35ha in extent, and exploration of the cemetery area has begun. The pottery assemblage recovered in three seasons is unparalleled in France but closely resembles that from Saxon Southampton, covering the range 7th to 10th centuries. Glass is of 7th-9th centuries, pottery and textiles were made, and bone and antler were worked; goods were also coming from a wide area.
