Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Reports on a unique model representing Stonehenge in its imagined completeness, made of stone taken from the supposed sources which supplied the real monument. Recently found in a store at the Natural History Museum in London, the model appears to have been created between 1924 and 1935 by Herbert Thomas, the geologist who first identified the Preseli hills in Pembrokeshire as the origin of most of Stonehenge's 'foreign' stones. The model is described here and its known history is outlined. LD | ||
