Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A five-year project at Burrough Hill, a large hillfort south of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, was begun in 2010 by the University of Leicester. This article reports on a collection of prehistoric metal chariot fittings that were discovered in 2013 along with the remains of three grooming tools, buried in a pit to the rear of an Iron Age roundhouse. The fittings appeared to have been placed on a deposit of cereal chaff and then set on fire before the pit was backfilled. LD | ||||||||||
