Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
In 2015 a clay pipe factory was excavated by Cotswold Archaeology in advance of redevelopment at a site in Bath. The excavation revealed the well-preserved floor and foundations of the factory, as well as the bases of two kilns of a developed muffle type. This article briefly outlines the process of pipe making and the history of the factory, which operated in the 18th and 19th centuries. The remains of the factory will be preserved in situ beneath the new development. LD | |||
