The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 A survey of roofed and unroofed boat shelters, on or above the shoreline with concomitant slipway and landing place (or `nausts') particularly focused on looking for Viking/Late Norse examples. The sites of Whitehave and Binnaskirk may pre-date AD 1300. Other possible sites were also noted although coastal erosion and later building activity can damage or obscure the evidence. The majority of the sites surveyed are post-medieval in date.
