Tests whether the Pie-Slice computer package used for pottery assemblages can be adapted for use with animal bone assemblages. Material from Roman, Saxon, medieval and post-medieval sites in London is compared. Concludes that, provided an appropriate means of quantification is used, the transfer of the approach is valid.
