Abstract:
Soil analysis of a buried post-glacial fossil soil stratified between a periglacial coombe rock and a ploughwash deposit demonstrated a sequence of woodland, clearance, and tillage. A 14C determination in early 2nd millennium may date the clearance phase. Both the morphology of the palaeosol and the composition of the molluscan fauna vary according to their position on the buried landscape. Au(abr)
