Abstract:
Notes discoveries of LIA-RB bronze cosmetic sets, particularly `mortars' found at Crayford and Springhead. Originally parts of `pestle and mortar' sets of small size, they are thought to have been used in the preparation of face or eye powders, are peculiar to Britain and mostly of the first--second-centuries AD although some are found in IA contexts.
