Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
The results of this survey are intended to form a chronology of sites based on the typology of c 6,000 examples of stone artefacts. It was noted from the outset that a large part of the island had remained undisturbed in recent times which geographically biases the survey. Also flint/stone resources on the island were often of poor quality from riverine and beach sources, and much of the island's soil cover is very thin which often results in some stratigraphic confusion. The artefacts analysed included those from the sites of L'Emauve, Raz, Pourciaux/Mannez, Platte Cotil, Longis Bay, Sylt, the Nunnery, Longis golf course, Berry's Quarry, Essex Hill, Giffoine/Trois vaux, Tourgis, La Houguette de la Taillie, Val de Sud, La Rond But and the airport. | |||
