Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Reports a site located during watching brief and salvage excavation work during pipe-laying. Excavation revealed twenty cremations, together with a metalled surface, flanked on the south (downhill) side by a ditch, which was interpreted as the Roman road running westwards from Caerleon to Cardiff. There are specialist reports on: `The cremated skeletal remains' by J L Wilkinson (204--19); `The pottery' by David R Evans (220--35); `Other ceramic objects' (235--6) and `Objects of copper alloy' (236) both by Susan A Fox; `Iron objects and nails'(237--9) and `The glass' (240--3) detailing vessel-, window-, and objects including a stirring rod, all by J David Zienkiewicz. `Objects of stone' by Susan A Fox (242--3), and the brick and tile close proceedings. | ||||||||||||||
