At a temple site in Insula XXXV well-cut inscriptions on Purbeck marble mentioning the guild of peregrini were found (RIB 69-71). Possibly pre-Flavian in origin, with peregrinus denoting someone who was not a Roman citizen, their meaning and significance is discussed. | ||||||||
