reports on an excavation on the site of the house, which was constructed between 1521 and 1539 and demolished in 1801 AD. The location of the main doorway was revealed, permitting an estimate of the size of the building to be made (approximately thirty-three metres from east to west towers). The trenches also exposed the remains of a bridge abutment (which had originally spanned the southern length of the moat) and an eighteenth-century cellar, which evinces a late period of occupation in the house | ||||
