reports on an excavation at the small earthwork enclosure. Two Late Bronze Age ditches are revealed, which are possibly in alignment with some Early Bronze Age barrows. There was an intense period of Early/Middle Iron Age occupation, with the construction at least two phases of ramparts, a round-house and evidence of crop growing and wool production. The authors argue that the site should be interepreted as an enclosure, rather than as a hillfort. Also excavated was a Romano-British structure, identified as a farmhouse, which was constructed inside the enclosure in the first century AD and demolished in the third century AD | ||||||||||||||
