Abstract:		 Evaluation trenches have revealed evidence for Romano-British activity of a peripheral nature beginning in the second century and disappearing in the fourth or fifth century followed by occupation layers from the eleventh to the nineteenth centuries. These dates are indicated by the finds which are detailed in specialist reports on: `The ceramics' by Rod Burchill (14); `The small finds' by John Clarke (14--15); `The glass ware' by John Clarke & Paul De'Ath (15); and `The clay tobacco pipes' by Mark Lewcun (15).
