Abstract:		 The author considers a reference in Chapter 56 of Historia Brittonum to a battle fought by King Arthur on `a river-bank called Tribuit', reviewing previous research on the identity and location of this place as well as information from early medieval texts. The conclusion is reached that the place in question was named Tribuit, rather than the river, and that it was probably in Scotland, the most likely location being Dreva on the upper Tweed (NT 1435), seven miles west-southwest of Peebles.
