Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Recent archaeological and palaeoenvironmental survey of the Vale of Pickering permits an understanding of the regional context of the important Mesolithic site of Star Carr and indicates that the site itself now needs to be re-evaluated. The paper focusses on the lithic evidence recovered during excavations since 1976 and field survey in order to explore the nature of people's engagement with the landscape of the Vale during the Early Mesolithic. Includes French, German and Spanish summaries. | ||||||||
