Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A closer look is taken at the Irish settlements in post-Roman Atlantic Britain from Argyll to Cornwall. The diverse threads of historical, linguistic, epigraphic, archaeological, place-name and blood-group evidence are combined to demonstrate as low but relatively continuous process of migration from (and probably also to) Ireland in the post-Roman centuries. Far from being negligible, the Irish factor in the history of early Britain was of considerable importance.
