Excavations revealed a small site comprising pits associated with worked flint, including microliths. Radiocarbon dates placed the activity in the mid-ninth millennium BP, thus one of Scotland's earliest sites and the earliest settlement on the east coast. The site is interpreted as a short-term, specialised camp for collection and processing of marine resources. | |||||
