Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Excavation uncovered evidence relating to both construction and demolition of the south-western bastion of the Cromwellian citadel on the South Inch of Perth, including variations in construction techniques that suggested the work of several teams. The moat was re-excavated at least twice, probably during a Jacobite occupation and following demolition of the fortification in the 1780s. Evidence of more recent activity was also uncovered.
