Abstract:
An analysis and reconstruction of its architectural development (Norman church with medieval alterations), especially the surviving evidence bearing on construction techniques in the mid twelfth-century and the implications of the church's primary dressings being executed in brick (contra some conclusions in 98/256). Thirteenth-fifteenth century wall paintings are discussed by Sharon Cather and David Park (105--10) and `The medieval floor tiles' by Paul Drury (110--12).
